Christmas Gift Swap ala MBP

December 19, 2016

– – –

The past few days have been really hectic and I’m sure everyone can relate. But it’s all part of the most wonderful time of the year so we have to just bear with it! 🙂

So this is my second Christmas as a work at home mom.

To be quite honest, this is the season when I suddenly miss being in the corporate world. All the wonderful gifts I receive from my colleagues and clients… All the fun Christmas parties and unending lunch treats… Giant grocery boxes from the company and of course CHRISTMAS BONUS, hello! So yeah, I’d be lying if I say I don’t feel a tiny bit of regret during these times. But hey, I still have a lot to be thankful for. More on that later.

THANKFULLY, the genius moms and sponsors of my awesome group, Mommy Bloggers Philippines, have decided to create a GIFT SWAP (aka Exchange Gift)! YAAAAY! 🙂 This definitely compensated for the Kris Kringles I miss back in my workplace! What’s great about it is we can get to know more moms and share more of ourselves as well through this delightful gift giving process. KUDOS to mommy Lanie, Joy, and Louisa for arranging this!

I was so excited and NERVOUS at the same time. This is the first virtual exchange gift I ever joined and it’s the first time I ever gifted someone I haven’t even met! Of course I wanted to please my gift swap partner so reading this from her (below) makes me want to jump up and down with joy! Yipee! 🙂

You see, I really love shopping for personalized gift items and I make sure I give my family/friends something that would suit their needs and taste, so learning how much she loved the gifts that also made her feel like I knew her, made me truly enjoy this experience! 🙂

My gifts represented my mantra to live by: EAT, PRAY, and SLAY. I also added PLAY recently because I just slowly started to realise that we should still have time for ourselves.

EAT. Always nourish yourself and your family. Food makes us happy. Don’t deprive yourself. (Shared with her my favourite Cheeza snack from Japan)

PRAY. The most powerful of them all. Nothing can beat this weapon against anything. (Shared with her a nice prayer notebook with one of my favourite verses of all time)

SLAY. Whether, you’re a working mom or a stay at home mom, do what you gotta do and give your best always. (Shared with her cute dangling earrings from Sfera for a slayin’ Holiday look)

PLAY. Make time for yourself. Whether it’s reading a book, a pedicure, or a 1-hour yoga class. It will do wonders to your mental and emotional health(Shared with her a bookmark that says “Adventure”)

They all came in a lovely silver pouch since I was feeling more generous that usual hehe 🙂

It’s also amusing to note that Jeanny and I have a lot of things in common. She is happily married and a new mommy of a baby girl. She also lives in the South and loves to go to the beach! No wonder she appreciated my presents! Hehe 🙂

Of course, the swap won’t be complete without MY present. A big THANK YOU to the lovely mommy Cheryl, of Ma.Me.Mi.Mommy for my cute and useful gifts that represented the things she loved – Travel, Art, and Being a Super Mom. So refreshing to learn about more moms like you and I loved getting to know you thru your blog.

I really appreciate receiving practical items I can use. I’ve been looking for a travel set for my Japan trip last month! I’m definitely going to use it in my next travel adventure! I’m already currently using the red pen to write on our gift tags. 🙂

P.S. your note was super CUTE! Thanks again and Merry Christmas!

Another HUGE THANKS to our generous sponsors for adding more fun into the Gift Swap! Imagine, receiving more gifts after the exciting exchange gift? Ah yes, it truly is the season of giving! 🙂

Thank you to: Contadina, Tupperware Philippines, Lorenzana Lorins Patis and Bagoong Guisado, myPhone Watch, VillaDelConte Chocolates, Arla, and Poetry Magnets.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL THE MOMS OF MBP and to everyone reading this! 🙂
